That is true, coupled with the fact that the vast majority of our cars will do around 45 miles/gallon.... many even 60 miles/gallon.... I guess we aint got it too bad. :)

Would love to drive through Texas, BTW, ive never been to that part of America.

it takes about 8 hours to get to San Francisco or 13 hours to L.A. from here - or up 5 hours to Portland and I think 6 to Seattle.

All while driving a gas guzzler.....

The thing is, if I divide up gas by the amount of people on the vehicle, it is way more effecient than driving a couple of hondas AND paying the high prices for the hondas.

What bugs me is soooooo many big trucks, SUVs, etc that get bad mileage only seem to hold 1 person!! I also find that the bigger the tires the less people it can hold, the exception being that they do have to hold the weight of one BIIIIGG head. :)

You could be right there, J, just have to get over the hurdle of going from a coupe and two station wagons to squeezing 5 bodies and all my gear into one of these  ;)

Why on earth do hybrids and fuel efficient vehicles have to look like Rosie O'Donnel gave birth? I'll never figure out why they make these vehicles look stupid intentionally. Is it to say "hey, I'm a hybrid?"...

Anyway, I doubt you would need something like that. My Olds Intrigue gets 32MPG and has a 3800 Buick engine... Peppy as hell, but great on gas. You can fit 5 adults quite comfortably in it. 3 in the trunk, if you are into that kind of work.

Pulling my boat or cycle I end up around 12 - 15 MPG however... YIKES! A lot of load, and a lot of drag. But for the driving I do, it does great on gas, does not look like a retarded football, and actually has room and get up and go.

I'm still on a mission to convert it to LP, but as of yet, I have not found a US installer. I may just have to do it myself!

There is really no excuse for American automobiles not getting 100MPG. What really baffles me about GM is the fact that the Chevy Avalanche (basically a cluster #$% make over a a blazer/s10) gets worse gas mileage than a Suburban! Figure that out?

A little hint on how you can keep your car fuel efficient, even if it only gets 10MPG... Change your oil every 2000-3000 miles. I have always changed mine every 3000 miles, and the differences you see in both performance and fuel efficiency are insane.

    Mia,

look carefully at the pictures with the book upside down. the book lies naturally on Bush's left hand (the bottom line), on the picture where the book is held correctly you can see the bottom of the book makes a straight line on Bush's sleeve. Put a jacket on yourself and put a similar size book on you left hand the way Bush holds it, you’ll see that you cannot get straight bottom line of the book as it is in this picture, the book has weight and will make a dent on the suit and part of it will "sink" sitting on the sleeve …. a bit. ..

IMO the second picture is doctored ....

Yes, the picture was doctored.. The book was never held upside down. Is that what you are trying to say? If so, it has already been said.
