I never understand the religious types that think evolution is some kind of evil witchery

The Catholic Church has publicly acknowledged there can be coexistance:
    http://www.catholic.net/RCC/Periodicals/Dossier/0102-97/Article3.html

I have never understood why you can't believe in both and why school boards have to vote on crap like this...Like their kids are going to somehow get their minds polluted by that "wacky darwin"

Say what you like... that was the coup of the millennia.

Mary: Joe, I have something to tell you. I'm pregnant.

Joseph: What? How can that be? I've been away working as a travelling ass salesman for the past 6 months? What did you do?

Mary: Nothing, I swear! I was faithful as the driven snow!

Joseph: What the hell is "snow"?

Mary: Never mind that. It must have been God.

Joseph: What are you talking about? What does this have to do with God?

Mary: God came to me in the night and got me pregnant.

Joseph: Huh? Do you think I'm an idiot?

Mary: If I'm lying, may God strike me down where I stand!

    Joseph: (waits a few minutes)

Joseph: Right then. I guess it must be true. Wow! This makes us kinda special, doesn't it?

Mary: Absolutely! This is the Child of God.

Joseph: Cool! I think I heard about that in that Woodstock song that Jonie Mitchell wrote! I think I like the version by Crosbie, Stills, and Nash better...

I don't understand why that needs to be a specific curriculum...If you are religious, then you believe God controls everything so why single out Evolution and teach it that way in a public school?

Oh my. You can people are gonna actually teach that evolution may not answer every question about the origin of things? Let kids try and make up their own minds? Schools inspiring a little thought? How upsetting!

So questioning whether a theory is right or not is a bad thing??

Sorry, but I don't put all my eggs in any "theory" basket, especially one with so little proof like evolution.

A theory is just that = a theory

added: I think we agree on this one Lorien

Evolution isn't either. So I guess neither should be taught, correct?

Theory of relativity. Theory of Atlantis (hehe). Lots of things people generally accept as "fact" simply cannot be proven. So they will never move past a theory. Many of them, later on, turn out to be proven wrong anyways. Relativity is coming apart a little bit right now, with some experiments that are being run (slowing down light, etc).
