    Hi,

Can any one tell me, which antivirus is the best among the free antiviruses? Which antivirus I should down load for my PC?

    Thanks

I worked in the IT department of a university (great source of transmission of viruses) in my country and I could see the effectiveness of AVIRA (free version). Competed in parallel with the paid version of NOD. I can say that AVIRA detect and stop large amounts of virus, much better than NOD.

    AVIRA totally recommended

You may use free version-- avast2012 or avira 2012. (both are very useful, you may install anyone of them.)

I like Avira, been using it for around 5 years. It does pop up an advert though after the computer starts.

Avasta and avira are free good software.
Kaspersky uses a lot of system memory, that's why I hate it.

Avast [free version] is excellent virus protection software to start with - it automatically updates and unlike some others uses less of your computers resources to perform its many protection tasks.

    Good luck.

I'm using Ms. Security essentials right now, pretty good free AV and no performance impact at all.
