You can only withdraw to a US bank a/c or in some other countries as well where paypal is offering their services.

Paypal do send cheques to India. If yo order a cheque today, it would reach you in 20-25 days and would take another 25 days in clearance (as it is an International cheque). Or you could request your bank to purchase the cheque, then the amount would be credited to your account same day. Banks keep a certain percentile of the amount (I think it is 5%) as security in case the exchange rate is fluctuated. After the cheque clearance the balance amount (could be a little more or little less) is credited to your account.

But getting a cheque from paypal is a little spooky process. I would recommend if you have some friend or relative in US, then transfer money to their a/c and ask them to wire you the money, but be sure that they would be giving TAX on that amount, so you'll receive money after tax deduction.

I am very much fed up with paypal at the moment, i am eagerly awaiting google's new payment system. I will definitely shift once that arrives.

Hope this clears up everything. :)

The check is only sent if you are a verified paypal user.
When I click the withdraw link, it shows the withdrawal limit as $0 which can be increased to $2000 once a credit or debit card is added.( same implies for sending money else I would have bought something.)
The friend thing you mentioned seems ok but how many times am I going to bother someone else...

Don't rely on google cause I think they will also have these limitations.
Although I hope they should be able to verify indian cards.( They got offices here...)
Once I get that money out of there, I am going for something more reliable and moreover more independent

Anybody from India here who has withdrawn ?

    Speak out your mind.

I don't think there would be anybody in India, who have withdrawn. But you can add a credit card which in issued from an Indian bank. They might not accept debit card but they surely accept any Indian credit card. Once you add your credit card and you are verified you would be able to get a cheque from them.

Its nothing like we are not entitled to use it, we can register with paypal, send and recieve money, you can withdraw by getting a cheque issued in your name. You can add funds from your Indian CC in your paypal account. You just cannot withdraw funds in your bank a/c.

Sorry, it wasn't meant as a criticism, I just understood that as PP does not cover India, you are not protected by any financial guarantees. So if all your money went astray you would have no comeback.

I worked with a coder in India and he was refused an account.

No need to be sorry, i was just explaining how it works. :) That guy who was refused an account, that could be for some other reason maybe.

Yes i have tried this and it works, but i normally dont order cheques, my partner is in US, so we do all the conversions thru US bank a/c. He wires the money in Our Indian account once it is transferred to his account.

Nice to meet you Sumit. :D

Are Indian debit cards of any use for online payments ?

Anyone knows any site where payments can be made via debit cards issued in India? Paying by "net banking" is a different thing .

I faced the same problem with Adwords. In billing info section for Indian accounts , "Payment by Debit card with VISA logo" is an option , but during the payment procedure , it asks for Verification Code....INDIAN DEBIT CARDS dont have a verification code...so how is it supposed to work?

Hello! paypal does no accept debit cards which does not have card verification number on it.And i think all the banks operating in india issue debit card that does not have verification number.
ICICI debit card has visa electron logo my dear which is i think will not do more importantly ICICI debit card does not have verification number which is what paypal asks while entering card. You have to try credit card man or you can go with debit card of bank who has verification number on there cards like Visa debit card issued by visa itself.

I Feel the Best thing is transfer the paypal money to someone having Paypal account from US.
And tell him to send back through Xoom which is sent by courier/Direct deposit.
