I do not care to be a millionaire. I don't need that kind of money. My goal is to make about 10,000 a month that is all

To retire and live "moderately" (not under poverty) you need something like $2 million in the bank...

Not around here, and I am a long way from needing to retire.

I could live quite comfortable on 3500 a month and put the rest in savings.

I know you're thinking all you need is your monkey and you're good to go.

I think what yo-yo is saying is 40-60 years from now you'll need a little more than 3500

Do you know what I live on now? No, as long as that amount keeps growing with inflation I will never need more than that in todays dollars . sure I would like more, but I don't need it.

You ever want to retire? You're not building a pention or retirement fund like a corporation would working for yourself unless your saving your own money.

To retire at something like 65 you need estimated $2 million or so in the bank... sure 3500/month is good, but will you have that much to spend every month when you're retired?

Okay let me try it this way

10000 a month -- I live of of 3500 now for the next 25 years

    which leaves 6500 a month * 12 = 78,000 * 25 years =$1,950,000 without interest.

I'm extemely surprised that you got that much info from DP...I'm happy that most people have no idea what my financial status is. As soon as people know you have money, they want to be your "friend" and most expect hand outs.

I can't tell you how many people have asked if my brother gives me money. And they are shocked to find out that he doesn't just fork it over. haha. I have watch greed and jealously over money rip apart realtionships and families. So stupid .

Back in the internet Gold Rush days of 2000, I made a web site and had all the earnings go to them to help them get out of debt. Then the wife got addicted to gambling after the internet crash and they divorced after 20 something years of marriage. :(

Moral of the story, it's better to be poor and in debt than suddenly geting big fat checks, or even better, don't get in debt in the first place!
