Any Millionaire's at DP?

One thing I think not everyone is on the same page about is the definition of "Millionaire". Some tend to think a Mil in the bank is what it takes, but I was always taught that you need to clear a mil in annual personal income to earn that title.

I got sack lunch once I think. Thats it for my HS criminal record. I guess I'll never have much success at this webmaster stuff.

But as to people quittin HS.. Id really suggest you finish it. Its not that hard to get out. Minimal effort and youve got the degree, but without it you have zero insurance for getting a real job. Even if you would shoot yourself for workin a 9 to 5.. you might think differently when you are homeless.

Someone said they got some detention for "refusing to pass out papers". Well.. why refuse? Just play along. Do the minimal effort, there will still be plenty of time to work on your website when you get home instead of sitting there in detention. Peace

As for the paper thing, it wasn't quite as you put it...you had to be there it was complete BS

Anywayz I know what you are saying and Im not looking to quit HS, I will be going to college also...as you say minimal effort can get you throught it, the tough part is the time

 

Well, the time thing will get much better in college than in high school. No one makes you go to any of your classes, and depending on your school you can usually get A's with very little effort if you get in the right classes. My tip: go find a frat guy or two to talk to about what to schedule. They are always on top of exactly what the easy A's are because of word of mouth (some of the ones where I went had giant file cabinets with old exams from teachers who repeated their tests every year).

It's all realtive. That is why I said "on paper". Assets, yes. Do I have a cool mil in the bank? No.

I was easily worth more than a million but had a couple bad deals starting with 9/11. I guess I am working my way back up. By far my biggest failure was a game magazine (actual print) that I spent well over $250k on in 2 years.

 

Huh only first two page are intersted. emil2k if u want to really know then play the "CashFlow" games. My first Roolmadel is Robert T. Kiyosaki and 2nd Shawn.
They are similar in one habit that they think whats aer those idea where people really attract and they invest in ur product.

 

Mia, I was unclear in what I said. When I said "in the bank" I meant that metaphorically, so "in assets" would include what I was attempting to say.

The big distinction was "you have ammased a wealth totaling $1,000,000.00 (or more)" or "you earn $1,000,000.00 (or more) yearly.

Having a net worth of a Mil is awesome, and I would certainly be glad to be there, but I was always taught that a Millionaire is one who earns seven or more figures a year.

It seems like I'm the only one in this forum who actually finished school with excellence and got accepted to one of the world's top technical universities. Not that it will spoil my chances to become a millionaire - we will all be there at some time

 

Understood. That is why I think there is a distinction between, wealth (assents) and "rich" (shit loads of cash). It is not hard to amass assets. The hard part is keeping them, and paying for them I pay $15k/yr in taxes on one of my pieces of commercial property. That HURTS..... Believe me! I've got a $2800/mo. electric bill!

Again, it's all relative. The more you have, the more it costs. So to earn 1 million/year is not really much different than earning $10,000/yr to me. The costs involved in each income level rises exponentially. It's all the same to me. In order to classify as a millionare to me? You need to have like 40 mil minimum in the bank and relatively no liabilities.

 

Ouch!!

Still, most investment income is incremental, high taxes just make it (how to put this charitably)... moreso.

BTW, one popular definition of "rich" has always been "anyone with more money than me".

 

I define it as:

1. Home (not a house)
2. Wife
3. My son
4. My Dog
5. My Ferrets
6. My V-Rod
7. My MGB
8. My Olds (recently back from the body shop after storm damage)
9. Two refrigerators, one for food, one for beer
10. Direct TV

In all seriousness, my family is what makes me RICH! The toys are nice, and so is money. But you can't take it with you. Live fast, play hard. Life is short! Enjoy it. That's all you need to be rich.

Well, I graduated but it wasn't for a lack of trying. Smoking a lot of pot before school makes it hard to stay awake in your first class. The teacher wasn't amused, they made threats, so I started smoking after my first class

That was over 20 years ago and I'm doing quite well for myself today (not that I recommend my smoldery path). I'm sorry, what was this thread about?
