Any way to prevent an ebook from being pirated?

I might be releasing an ebook soon and one of my main concerns is finding a way so that people can not just simply give it to another person?

Cram it full of affiliate links, then lock the pdf. Then let anyone who wants to redistribute it have at.

good suggestion by internetmarketingiq, but that is not foolproof. once unlocked, they can still be duplicated.

Not much that you can do .... lazy people will distribute it as there own and other people will just re-write it .... just keep adding to it and updating the eBook - so that way - you and you only will be distributing the new copies and updates.

you can create an exe with a security code. Or you could create a membership site instead of an ebook.

I really like your membership idea!
Any way that I might be able to display words on a site and make it so people can not copy them?

Also there is no way of preventing someone from taking a screenshot of the site is there?

Thing is people can still give it to someone else and just tell them the password.

    HI

There is software out there that will encrpty your ebook and for the customer to get access to it they need to reg the ebook online...

I find this a pain.... use a goode pdf convertor... and exe ebook creator... and use the password optin in that program..

    Thx
    Tom

you must disable print option in the pdf also.. because if you put affiliate links, lock, encryption etc.. the people can use a Print2PDF and just print each page and collate those pages into a single PDF file again..

OR the ScreenShots of the PDF Pages can be taken and made into a different PDF File..

The best method to Release any content and Prevent its Piracy is making the content as "Fully OPEN SOURCE".. Once you make it Fully Open Source, the piracy question does not arise..

how about make it able to read online?
Another suggestion is, use shareware method. Which mean, user have to register the ebook. The password will rely on your PC. Different PC has different password.
