Any WordPress eCommerce Hosting Recommendations?

    Hello, everyone!

    I'm in the process of developing an eCommerce site through WordPress and I'd like to ensure maximum speed and security. I'm well-versed on using things like cloud setups and Amazon CDN (for example), as well as installing and configuring a good WordPress cache plugin. I'm going to implement Page Speed suggestions and all of that as well. The only thing that concerns me, however, is using shared hosting... I'm thinking that a VPS or something may be better suited for handling a site of this nature. Does anyone have any recommendations for a reputable, reliable, and cost-effective host?

    there are three different options you have

    amazon ec2- if low, use free tier, a few bucks a month - no cpanel, NO SUPPORT

    digitalocean - 5-10$ a month , cpanel - 10-15$ extra, support, but unmanaged.

    volumedrive- 5-10$ a month, cpanel/directadmin - 10-15$ extra, managed/unmanaged

    ipage - 19.99 for a 1gb vps, with managed support, and cpanel - if you are not good enough technically in it, that is what you should use.

    normal caching with supercache/wt3 etc is not good enough anymore.

    I'd suggest vps for this purpose. Also I don't recommend volumedrive and ipage.

    If you need unmanaged VPS then I'd suggest RamNode and FutureHosting for managed VPS.

    Have you ran a google search for smaller hosts? They are however, not as reliable, but can sometimes be less expensive.

    To run a new eCommerce site VPS is always a better option than shared hosting. What location you would prefer? What is your yearly budget for the hosting?
