Anyone ever click on DP ads?

Being that this is an "ad sharing forum" I was wondering if anyone ever clicks on the ads? Stupid question Right?

The reason I'm wondering is Google does not like you to click on your own ads, they may even go as far as saying that you are spamming them and cancel your AdSense account.

Being that I started this thread there is a 50/50 chance that my ad account will be used on this thread. Thus I take the risk of upsetting the Google gods if I click a link. There is also a chance of clicking on my own ads if I have posted in someone else's thread, and I come back later and click a link.

Therefore once again does anyone ever click these ads? just curious, I'm a little leery of it myself.:)

Anyone else can feel free to click in this thread though, it would be interesting to see if it would show in my AdSense account, I haven't gotten a click from here yet.

When we are online our ads are not shown.

I am weird but I do not click on ads period. If I see something I really am interested in I type in URL if shown, or do Google search for phrase appearing in the ads.

If an ad interests you, click it...otherwise don't click it.

Only if the ad really catches my attention. Happens maybe a couple times a week.

If I see someting of interest I will click, but being in Australia I usually get boring Aussie ads.

If the ad interests me, then I'll click.
    If not, then no.

If Smylr is correct then she answer the reason I may not want to click on any of the ads, I don't remember reading that in the DP comments on the subject.

By the way it wasn't my intension to try to get people to click on the ads in this thread if they are not interested in the ad. I'm more curious if they are getting displayed.

Leads to another Question. There are 7 responces to this thread. (not counting Mine) My adsense account should show at least 3-4 page impressions for the channel I set up for this site. So far I havn't loged any impressions.

You need a minimum amount of posts before it will become effective.

Sometimes I click the ads to help the publisher, but not out of interest. I figure, if I'm interested in something, I'll go research it myself. But you gotta give some credit to those who actually pay to put up their ads.

So you click ads just to take the advertiser's money? You have no interest in the product? Maybe I am misunderstanding, but that sounds like an assholelish thing to do. Hurts every party involved as well. Sorry if I'm wrong.

I also click on ads if they interest me. No pure clicking though.

I don't know...always just looked at it the other way. If I was a good friend of the owner of some site, for example, I would see my clicking the ads as more of helping the owner with hosting costs and whatnot, as opposed to the other side.

But what really gets me is people who make you click ads in order to use their site/service (which I've been to a few gaming networks that did such a thing).

The other way is the wrong way. Imagine you had a website selling baseball cards, and you decide to get an adwords account to try to increase sales. Well my friend has a website about the Ken Griffey Jr. rookie card, and bam, your ads show up one his page. Now would you want me to spend your money to look at your page when I have no intentions of buying the cards, and am only doing my friend a favor with hosting costs?

It doesn't make sense when you think about it. You can do what you want, there is no one to stop you, but think about what you are doing and how it affects other people.

Is this against TOS? (Discussing ads on a forum that displays the ads) Im just wondering because on my forum sometimes people will notice cool things in the ads and talk about it..
