I just came in here to ask what was going on there. The info I've seen is all pretty vague. What's going on out there?

Yup like DA mentioned its UK's 2nd biggest city.

    London 7,074,265
    Birmingham 1,020,589
    Leeds 726,939
    Glasgow 616,430
    Sheffield 530,375

Leeds has been on high alert all day - it's one of the UK's popular shopping districts - 2 hoax warnings, and police in force on the streets.

Yes the BullRing has spiced things up a bit and its comes a long way since its ugly years.

No wonder today as I came back from work there were coppers everywhere, near the malls, bus and train stations. Didnt know about the security alerts, this is bad

Hope there are no more bombs going off, aaaaagh

pini, the only reason why I know about the alerts is because my brother works for the local council, and was working today, and the town hall was evacuated. Nothing on the local news though..

yeah probably, but I think everyone would rather see our police and security forces not taking any chances! If they get intelligence that a strike is gonna happen and don't act then they could potentially be putting thousands of lives in danger

the people are relying on the government's police protection and they must really do some rigid trainings on how to protect the people. i would say that they must do some counter-action about that incident. those dreadful attacker/ terrorist must pay.

I think its pretty insensitive to Spam a thread thats so serious.

This thread is discussing the evacuation and if you read it you would have understood that. Take a look at this thread if you want to post a one liner:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=20864

Anyway, this was a few days ago but as everybody probably already knows they conducted 3 controlled explosions and all three suspicious packages were not bombs.

It was great to read that local business's, despite losing a lot of money, supported the evacuation. Too many times people criticize law enforcement for being too catious and then when something does happen they complain they didn't do enough.
