    Curious, anyone make money with a free classified site? Not from a fee for placing an ad but from Adsense etc..

    If you make a successfull one with lots of traffic and listings then yes many people will visit and click on the ads and you will get paid. It all depends on how successfull you make the site and how much traffic you get to it. Don't expect much from adsense it only makes you about 50 bucks a month maybe, if you make more your website has tons of traffic

    I'm having one but I'm not going to allow Adsense on it because I'm unable to control the type of content that will appear.
    I wouldn't want to risk any breach of the Adsense TOS.

    The trouble with free classifieds sites is that it's difficult generating substantial traffic levels.

    I made money with mine when I sold it. ;) With Google, Craigs List, and now Microsoft entering the market new sites will have it difficult to make money from online classifieds. Exception: if you have a good going forums website you might be able to tunnel the traffic into your own, related classifieds.
