Anyone making >=$250 a day?

    Hi,

I've just worked out that if I can make $250 a day I will be able to retire at the grand age of 27 :D

    So my question,

If you can make either $250 or more a day through adsense, how many sites are you running/how popular are they?

I ask so I have a goal and need someone to inspire me! :)

    cheers

    JP

    p.s I doubt I would become a bum but it's nice to have a real goal :)

Are you like 8 years old....or do you live in Mexico?

I'm just wondering how you came up with 27 as a retirement age :)

I know of 2 ppl making more than that a day, they have 2 and 3 sites. one has been on adSense pretty much since it started, the other is on his 3rd or 4th month. and yer... where do you live? Cos $250 = £138 /day or £4k a month, and then there is tax which at £48k a year is going to be like 40% or something...

still, congrats if you make your 250 a day, its a good goal to have.. but its not $1000.01 a day :p

People sometimes think of different things when talking about retiring.
Retiring doesn't necessarily mean having no income. It could just mean giving up the day job and working for a couple of hours a day online.
On £48K in the UK you would be liable for tax at 40% on anything about the £28K band (not 40% on the lot). I would expect any accountant to be able to substantially reduce your tax version if you're working for yourself so that you weren't paying 40% on too much of that income. If you're declaring the whole amount as income, then you need to get a new accountant.

Given the choice, as soon as I can afford it. I'll be leaving this country and moving to Tenerife - I just need to persuade SWMBO. If/when I have the money, there is no way I'm living in this climate :D

    nice, like the monkey :)

Yes, so 1 or 2 sites can do that, the number of sites is not important, the number of impressions is... I posted a table in another thread that can tell you what to aim for:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=22419

so if you want 250 a day, thats around 7500 a month, you will need just under 2,000,000 impressions a month to get that with a CTR of 5% and around 0.10 per click.

if you do that with one site getting 2mill impressions or 4 sites getting 500,000 makes very little difference.

    For $250 per day:
Say you have an average click of $0.25 you'd need 1000 clicks per day. Assuming an average CTR of 5% then you need to get 20,000 visitors per day.
You know what your sites bring in visitor wise, so you can now workout how many sites you need :)
I'd expect that 10 decent sites could generate 20K visitors. OK, it wouldn't be easy but it could be done.
You need to remember that with that sort of level of traffic, you should be bringing in money from more than just adsense.

Maybe not retire, but you could consider doing it full time if you reach $250. btw Lanzarote looks like a great place to live. With $250 a day I would sit on the beach all day long with a laptop :D.

As Critters says, it could be done with 1 site. I'd imagine that it might be easier to use 10 - though you then need to find 10 topics that can drive those sorts of traffic levels.

Yea, it sounds like he means retire from the bar, not retire and sit on the beach.
