Well there is a lot of skill involved... The sneaky tiger energy transfer sick puppy poke takes years to master.

I hope that's not what you practice, but anyway, what do you call the martial art of beating the shit out of those that try beating the shit out of homeless people, kids and little helpless, sick puppies?

I wouldn't mind doing some of that to get in shape!;)

I have no formal traininig but I do like to fight.

This place is right down the street from my house and I've been beat down a few times by those guys. I need to build up my shins. Getting nailed repeatedly in the shins hurts!!!

Go for it Rob!, looks like a good place to get some realistic views on defense and offensive techniques.

Just don't get involved with that time wasting karate kata s&*t

I studied Tai Kwon Do for a month. I was very dedicated with it, but one day the Sensei never showed back up, so of course the course was canceled. I think next year I may pick up on Tang Soo Do, since that seems to be the best Martial Arts that I was able to find information on around where I live.

    No they are not same.

Muay Thai is a very rare art. hardly anyone masters in it.
Thai-boxing, you can call it an off-spring of Muay-Thai.

    Have you seen "The Quest"

I don't do martial arts but my neighbours are really into capawerra (sp?). One of them teaches it and all the brothers practise in the park in front of my house. The music and the moves are cool. If I did anything, I'd do that.

I've actually seen this guy fight in person.

He kind of looks like a Sally but all I can say is, "What a fucking maniac!"

I'm a high school wrestler, does that count. Don't have enough time for DP anymore as I'm training 3 hours a day to kick ass!

In UFC the wrestlers stand a pretty good chance anyway ;)

LOL. Tai Chi as a fighting style is basically like saying your fighting style is Taebo

This is a good pace to learn to get your ass kicked. Hackney has been putting out more UFC defeats then any other I've ever seen. :D

Arlovski is no joke though. That guy's an animal.

Yeah, even Ken Shamrock started getting killed after he started training there.

BTW- pretty decent card this Saturday.

I'm interested to see this guy fight. He's supposed to be pretty tough I guess.

Yeah I used to really like Shamrock, too. Why would he train there? I mean I'm sure it's a good place for training. I bet a lot of guys could get a lot from it, but for top guys I think there are only a few really good trainers. Ken's brother is kind of gay though.

I don't think I'll buy the UFC fight though. You going to watch it?

I hope Quarry beats Franklin. That should be a good fight.

I've never heard of Ansar, but if he's been doing arm bars since 6 yeah he might be a beast.

I think he's friends w/ Keith. It wasn't his main gym but he spent a lot of time there a few years ago. He was going to help Keith w/ the Olympics team.

Keith is training people for the olympics? That's cool.

Yeah I wouldn't want to fight any of the fighters at Hackney's. I wouldn't want to fight anyone that spends hours every day getting training in fighting. Actually, part of me does. But the brain part of me says no.

I didn't want you to think I was trying to run down Hackney's. I just remember his two losses and that guy that he training getting destroyed by Nick Quarry to the point he didn't even know the fight was over.

I would like to learn how to fight better and actually train w/ them. But I just can't deal with being hurt all of the time. I mean, I'm almost 30 years old- ya know!

Don't forget Gideon Ray getting beat in ten seconds by Mike Swick!

I feel that same way. I have thought about looking for some place here in Dallas. Ask Keith if he knows of any good place here.

There are so many of those little pansy karate schools here where they make everyone do their little routines next to 9 year old girls and 80 year old guys.
