Anyone see War of the Worlds Yet????

My daughter got sick so I missed about the last ten minutes or so. Up until that point it was a good movie.

I'm going to Leicester Sq to see it on monday... Really looking forward to it.

The old audio tapes were a favourite of mine as a kid...
I hope they've done it justice.

i watched it yesterday - it was quite good... worth my time...

my only complaint was that the beginning and the ending was too abrupt... :)

No I don't know her, but he seems like a pretty standup guy, so her judgement must not be 100% right.

My 6 year old wants to go and see it - can anyone say if it would be suitable for him? (Lord of the Rings scared him)

a local dj said it kept him on the edge of his seat until the last ten minutes. Then it just fell flat. I'll be seeing it soon because it looks good, even it TC is the lead.

The ending is supposed to be the exact one as in the book and original movie. I'm not surprised its abrupt (but its probably the most logical ending).

Doesn't Tom Cruise threaten to open up a scientologist booth on a space ship? The aliens' innate fear of harrassing phone calls and constant badgering for donations makes them leave earth and never come back. LOL

    LMAO!

I'm looking forward to the release of WotW here...sigh...that and The Chronicles of Narnia...argh...Christmas will never get here!

I loved LoTR's. It's still currently my favorite movie ever. And no, I wouldn't be taking a six year old to see these movies. Thats me though. :)

Yeah, I saw it. It's your typical I'm going to outrun the bad guy until a weakness in the enemy shows up type of movie.

But I find most action movies pretty boring--too predictable. YMMV. ;)

I saw it yesterday... Had generally similar thoughts though. Great effects and it follows the original story very closely. Because it follows the story so closely, it does kind of end quickly, if I didn't know the original story, I probably would have just thought, "Huh? What just happened?" :)
