Anyone that ever clicked at a stupid popup?

I've get lots of popups everyday(luckily, my popupblocker stops them all) but I guess some people must click on them, why would it otherwise be so usuall to see the webpromoters that plays out the same old card everytime: "Hey, you are the lucky winner of 20.000.000$" or something like that. I remember that I was about to sign such thing once(but I didn't) but that as back in 1997 and I was a kid.

 

As a webmaster, I don't use popups because I know everyone hates them. Really, who enjoys to be nagged by windows popping up? The only reason I've ever clicked the popup is because it popped up right as I was going to click on a hyperlink on the webpage. I think they should be banned, it would clean up cyberspace pretty well.

 

Why does respected companies such as CNN use them?

 

they don't use them...they use TWO...it's a bloody outrage and we should refrain from using their site.

 

And also the weatherchannel.com uses them. annoying....

 

At the end of the day if someone was to pay me 10x the money to put popups on my website id close my eyes and do it even though i absolutely hate them myself. (Thanks to FF its not too bad)

 

I like pop-ups! It's fun to have my wife yell for me to come upstairs every ten minutes becasue her computer "Could have Spyware" or "May not be running at its peak performance".

 

Accidentally I clicked one. Popup blockers kinda suck cause they don't block all the crap, but they prevent new windows from opening.

Popups work because they are very cheap and there are enough stupid people who still click them. Nowadays you see a lot of popunders which have a higher ROI for advertisers so the problem wont go away.

 

It lets me know when my boyfriend is looking at porn, it sounds like he won the lotto... pop-up blocker, ding ding ding... his reaction though is usually the opposite.

 

well they still block more than 90% and it's much better than have to close them all by your self.

You may be right, I know a retard that got viagra in his mailbox of some reason

 

Does it also let him know when you are on naughty sites?
