Anyone Using Handshakes for a Successful Network?

Discussion in 'Content Management' started by carl_in_florida, Sep 19, 2007.

I am looking to start a social community and would like to use handshakes but I cannot find a single successful social network built on it. I see several for phpfox.

Is anyone running a social networking site using handshakes? Can you either post a link or pm me? I am planning a real niche site and don't want to make a monetary mistake.

    Thanks

I want to start a niche social network. The real benefit of handshakes is that you can use the billions of myspace layouts on the market.

I have seen them but have not managed them myself. I am really curious if there are any handshakes sites that are running.

I've never heard of handshakes. I personally use Ning.com . Plenty of tight examples on their homepage.

wow, ning is pretty decent, I've just been fooling around with it a little. Too bad they dont have a software version, I'd love that.

Ning is not the same thing. You don't have your own site, you make a community on their site.

    Was this just comment spam?

I have a couple sites using handshakes but they are new. But have recently got to the top of search engines for some good search terms so i should see what the results will be. I have had phpfox for a while now and i like there script better i have 20K members on that one so far. As for using myspace layouts you can use them on phpfox as well it just won't show the contact table. You just have to go to settings and make the background transparent. Yoiu can check out my profile here to see what i mean. http://www.friendwise.com/rich
