Are these VERY bad links....

I've been spending time trading links etc....anyhow I've traded with this chain of hotel websites...GO on tell that's bad....?

Anyhow here are a few of the sites I am suppose to be linked to about 54 in total from the email confirmation. Anyhow when I click on random ones the site doesn't load and neither does just the domain on it's own.

Should I stay clear of these links, would they be classed as link farms?

I can't get through to the sites but was able to view Googles cached versions. They aren't link farms but their links are very 'spammy'. What I mean by that is that their links directory has been set up purely to inflate their links in to them. no human would ever find a thing in there they were looking for. Compare that to your link section which has an order to it... so it doesn't look like a bunch of garbage. (I know we all trade links for boosting our rankings, but it should at least look decent and not like a bunch of spam).

The problem I've found with linking to these types of sites is that they clutter up your links pages with the result that really good, quality sites aren't interested in exchanging links with you because they don't want their links to be on the same pages with these spam-type sites. This is just my experience. I'm sure there are many that will tell you to go for it, that 50 links are 50 extra links worth having ... I'd rather go for quality.

Personally, I would not exchange links with these sites. In my experience, One single link from a good quality site is worth more than links from 50 such spammy sites.

hmmm, looks like Google might be considering it to be spam too.
I would stay away from that. There's been some debate about that 1969 date here on the forums... not sure where now

With so many of the sites they offered links with being down...I've now taken them off my site.

Definitely spam. The first thing I look for when exchanging links is to see if their links show up in G's cache. If not, I stay away.
