    Hi,

I saw so many articles sites, or article directories, or whatever and I'm wondering if is a lucrative business to have an articles site, like articlesfactory .com or ezinearticles.com
If someone have sites like these, please tel me how average revenue they get.

    Thanks,

    JP

They can be very profitable once you get them going and build the traffic. The best part is that you will start getting people who are submitting their own original articles which will of course help you get better serps eventually and of course more traffic. It takes work to do this though and you will be writing alot of articles yourself in the beginning.

Yes, I think that some of the early starters of article sites are doing quite well now, but there are some new arrivals that will be giving them competition in a few months (hopefully using my Article Script). :)

Hey for future reference most people consider this self-promotion and thread hi-jacking. Best to just keep the hotlinks in your sig and keep to the subject. You don't want to be red repped to death. Can be bad for you down the road when no one will trust you anymore. :)

I just started one too... I have heard that they are very good, but as far as my site goes, I haven't seen any revenue at all yet, but it is very very new...

I have a good feeling about it though, but only time will tell...

The trouble with articles is that people are buying up duplicated databases of duplicated content.

The other problem with article sites is that they take so much damn work. Imagine hand-reviewing 500+ submissions or so per day, checking that the articles aren't stolen, making sure that links work, etc and you'll get the idea.

I started an articles site a couple of months back and never realised how much effort it would be - I must have 3000-4000 unreviewed articles waiting for me. It's not for the faint hearted.

You are right. The rewards can be there though when you start seeing the income from them.

Is it possible to insert your script into an existing site i.e. to build content on home page to drive up SERP?

Or is it something I can branch off of my server to use as a standalone page?
Sort of like a "submit article" page.

If my sole purpose was to earn income directly from article directory (with PPC) then I would say it is not worth it. Once your directory gets out there keeping up with reviewing is pretty time consuming and if you take a couple days off can be frightening to return!

While I hoped to make some money (and do) my goal was to have additional source of content and feeds for my niche sites. Being able to create categories that specifically fit my niches, not having limits on article or feed use, and knowing that using my own feeds and articles only serves to promote my own sites. Basically feeding my niche sites makes me more money and in the end I think it is worth it.

Another side benefit is that you get a pretty sizable mailing list built for you but I haven't tried too hard to use it so not sure of its value. I know as an author that some directory owners send out a lot of messages and I don't even read them anymore...

I believe that is the case. I noticed some of the article site do not have google index.
