AVG 1,200 hits a day but low payment? Help please

    Hello,

My site http://www.evilpsp.com averages roughly 1,200 hits a day and is growing fast and I get about 50-80 clicks per day but I am only making roughly $2.00-$3.00 a day? Is there a better ad placement I could use?

Would you mind having a look and giving me your suggestions on improvements. I've tryed alot of different ad placements over time and the only think I can think of to do now would be to add adsense to the actual news articles which I have already started doing. Thanks!

Once again my site URL is http://www.evilpsp.com

You can't make a $1 click if your advertised web sites (via adsense or any other CPC) are selling a matchboxes for 10 cents each. Your niche is maybe with low value clicks and that may be the problem with low value PPC

I do know one thing. My monitor is set for 600 x 800 so I have to scroll sideways just to see the ads. I know there are more like me that have the same settings as I do and won't bother to scroll to the right.
Why not try to put the ads on the left side. Or you could follow Google's suggested Heat Map, which I have heard works very well.

I also think maybe its your niche. How many people are returning visitors is what I would like to know, because don't take any offense, but I don't like your layout, especially at the side with the dual columns. Also I expect a little bit more maybe in terms of design when going to a site with a monster name like EvilPSP.com.

Ok, I switched up the theme for a "grander" feel

Hows it work? I had to change the ads around a little bit but they are still essentially in the same spot

Try using the same font color on the Google ads as you are on the rest of your website. It may help blend in better.

In regards to the Google ads on the left sidebar, try removing the the "sponsored links" text and also the image. I believe having that image there is a little distracting. You want people to focus on your text.

In regards to the Google image ad on the right, I know don't what to tell you except, they don't work too good. Not too many people click on image ads, so you might want to change your strategy there...have you thought of putting a chitika ad there?

When you do ad placement experiments, remember to try it out at least for a few days to a week. Don't switch back and forth between different ad strategies or you won't be able to pinpoint what is working vs what is not.

One more thing...replace that logo at the top man. I know it fits the description of your domain name, but man it's kinda creepy. People might just run away after seeing that.

    Thank you for the advice,

could you give alittle more detail about chitika ads? I was under the impression that Google Adsense only allowed you to use their ads on your site that had Google Adsense on them?

Can I use more then one program got genrating revenue?

Yes, you are right. You may only use one PPC program on your website. I have heard from other webmasters that they've been having success with Chitika. I think they are great to promote if you run a site related to technology, computers, or video game consoles. Check them out at http://www.chitika.com. They have advertisements which may appeal to your visitors more.

Ok, I signed up with Chitika, it said in the little video demo that it can be used with Google Adsense, I'm confused now!

Which is it? I thought Google's policy was "ONLY Google Adsense ads or use something else other then Google." Please can someone help me?

You can only have adsense on page. No other pay per click ads so i would not have another site with asense on it. Maybe have pages for adsense and pages for other ones.

I am under impression if google bans you that is it. They have enough people doing adsense they do not need anyone who does not follow rules.

I used to run chikita and adsense no problem. They just dont want bidvertiser and google ads next to each other. if they're embedded in the content or pop up when you hover over them, google dosn't usually have a problem

You said only? Heck, if I would translate those numbers to one of my web sites, then I would be making $3,125 per day. I think you're violating the Google adsense system somewhere if you ask me.

Why not place a banner in-between blog posts? This could increase CTR as well as registered clicks. Otherwise everything looks fine.

I thought it was ok aslong as it was down to the detail?

Anyway, is running Amazon affiliate links and Google Adsense aginst the TOS? I didn't see it anywhere when I browsed through the Google TOS?
