    I've heard about it before.

That's a hell of a lot of potential lost adsense revenue! ;)

Yeah, I've been following it for about a year or so. They did their best to eradicate it by destroying every flock that was even suspected of possibly having it but it still got out, mutated enough to become transmissible between humans as well as poultry, and here we are.

I follow the course since the beginning of the avian flu and that there is nothng much to do about it. Once it can spread from human to human try to quarantine yourself if possible. When it happens then it's going to be a global disaster.

At the moment it can't be transfered from person to person, but there are signs where they found out that this virus mutates and one day perhaps it will be transfered via humans.

The odds are good that eventually we will have another very bad strain of influenza.

1918 was a statistical anomaly, but statistical anomalies do repeat in a large enough sample size.

The fear is that it is mutating. Next mutation may make it transferable from human to human. Not enough of a particular drug produced to help with major outbreak. Scary.

And no drugs really help all that much with viral infections like influenza.

And, of course, medicine is for people in capitalist countries. The destitute humans suffering under communist regimes can be expected to die en masse, as per usual.

Dude... I literally laughed for a minute and a half when I read that.

    ... So true :D

There was an ABC special on this Thursday night. One scientists said it's literally an hour-to-hour thing.

The drug being discussed that could actually stop it is made by ONE factory in some country I forgot the name. Owned by Roche. Countries are fighting to get in line to buy stockpiles of the drug.

The US as usual is unprepared for this natural disaster and didn't get in line fast enough so we are far down the line :(

Espionage has always been one of the great strengths of communist societies.

I mean, why work when you can steal?

    They say:
55% of people who get infected die.
UK has enough of the Tamiflu drug for 25% of its population.
United States just bought $100 Million worth of it.

The last step before killing a huge amount of people is 1 last mutation to spread from person to person. Unlike the common flu this strain gos deep into your lungs and fills them with liquid rapidly, causing you to die from extreme pnemonia.
