They don't steal. They buy the information from enterprising capitalist insiders who wish to better their lives with financial enrichment.

I was fairly certain it had reached the tipping point.

That is similar to the 1918 "Spanish" flu.

There won't be a pandemic. Nothing will happen at all. This is like the Sars scare. itwill fizzle out in a month or so. My advice is to say away from ducks and avoid chinese food.

I know If I said such a comment Zman and Palespider would waste no time leaving me red and would insult my belief in Christ. And then Hennry would be telling me how I am 'bad conservative'.

It is the very old and the very young that will get ... culled. As a mother, that frightens me. I remember millions of chickens getting burned in HK years ago because of some lurgy. Long before this Avian flu ever was heard of. I wonder if that could have been the start of it there?

Ebola, Marberg, Avian flu, Sars... whatever. There will be an epidemic and it will wipe out at least as many as AIDS did (and does). That is a natural law and the earth's way of heaving some of her ungrateful children off her back.

Haha, Hope you are right. Except the whole world would end up there and then you'll all die of starvation, suffocation and frustration when you try and get a taxi.

Actually, not with this strain of influenza. It is feared so much precisely because like the 1918 flu pandemic, it tends to strike healthy adults.

Well, thanks for that McFox. I'm sure I read somewhere it was young kids and old people that bit the bullet with this one. Now, I can quit worrying about them and start worrying about everybody else I know.

Seriously though, some kind of epidemic is past due now. They've been predicting it for years. I don't think this is it but a friend said something creepy to me today: Flood, fire and pestilence - it's the end of the world.

Tsunami, hurricanes, earthquakes, planes dropping out the sky, weird sickness and fires across the world. It is such a shame that pain, disease, deprivation and death win so many inches of newspaper space because though I don't believe that end of the world crap, I sure could use some happy news right now.

I think we all could. Why does pain win so many viewers but some happy coincidence that results in 100 lives saved or a new vaccination not garner news coverage?

Why is Britney Spears more important than any hard working social worker or teacher or nurse, who is slogging their bloody heart out for peanuts.

My nephew died recently and the carers round his bedside beat themselves to bits for losing him. This world is f****ed because we find our heroes in the wrong places.
