It seems for the last few weeks I am running out of motivation fuel to pursue working hardcore @ level x1000 speed. The hunger for money is not as strong as a few months ago!! What should I do? Talk to me!! I need to be put back into the correct mindframe :D

What do you usually do when your low on motivational fuel?

Best thing you can do is walk away from the computer for a few days. Rest. Relax. Take a little break. Ease back on the throttle and allow your mind and body some recovery time.

This may seem to go against what you are hoping to achieve but believe me, a rest is often the best remedy for your situation.

You will find that a couple of days break will recharge your battery and you will be much more productive.

I totally understand you, INV. I have a new project right now and I am 99% sure that it will end up earning loads of $$$, but I just don't feel motivated to finish it. I just need to build the site for it, and it only needs 5 pages, but I can't find any motivation to open my FP and start working.

I don't understand why, I just feel a bit tired of this whole webmastering stuff. I guess
mcfox is right, maybe I need to go to the beach for a few days and forget about all this and relax for a while.

Absolutely not. I would never do such a thing for a few dollars, INV. It's just that i'm a big fan of motivational and inspirational stuffs. And the posters i offer asre really a great therapy against "lack of motivation". I just recommended it cuz it works, that's all.

Anyway, a simple trick i've found that motivates you like hell is to do extreme sports. Yup, it could be anything you could qualify as extreme. For me it's driving very fast (with all precautions taken of course and definitely not on the highways)

I have noticed that everytime i tend to speed too much, i get a weird wise insight that life is very short, and that I could die any moment. This becomes a driving force so to say in keeping me motivated all the time. I know that life is very short, motivation is not permanent and my future depends on my actions (work).

Think over it INV, it changed my life. It could change yours too :)

I stand naked in front of a full length mirror and stare at myself. It doesn't take long to realize that I need money and lots of it.

Oh, kids are a great motivation.

    Some very good points :)

-Webmistress: I really didn't mean that, I am just rambling on. Thanks for the advice.
-McFox: I think I need a vacation defiantly. I've been working for around 8 months none stop overtiming everyday almost online with no break at all.
-Fryman, I read about your upcoming special project! You should look deep inside and think how great it will be and how the users would love it and best of all the money you will make in the end!
-Roman1: I bet kids are great motivation, I can't wait till that day, but I have tons of time before the day.

he he... problem is that my lack of scripting knowledge plus my very limited knowledge of HTML make things 10 times more difficult for me.
I have spent the last 3 hours trying to get a simple mailing list script to work. It is something that anyone with basic php knowledge would of done in 2 minutes, but for me it was like nuclear science.

I finally got the damn thing working... now I need to go back to photoshop to design a few navigation buttons :D

It doesn't work. When you come back then you will probably have something else in your mind, mayby a new project that will going to end unfinished.

It's ironic that I've always feel tired of the concept when it's nearly done. I try however to force myselfs to finish it. I can reccommend this to anyone.

It doesn't work if you are an idle b****** and can't be bothered but if you are usually motivated but have been over-working and driving yourself too hard, it works great!

Go somewhere where you have no internet access or pc. By the time you get back you will be ready to work.

The longer the 'vacation' the longer you'll be movitated for generally.

Let the price of gasoline after Rita be you motivation fuel. Who could not use a few extra bucks to help fill their tank.

Get yourself a good DIY programming book, sign up for a programming course through a community college near you, or try an online class. Finding a good class would be the hardest part.

    Good luck.
