Ah, yes, bonsaikittens.com, a gag site affiliated with rotten.com as I recall. Funny all those kids took it seriously.

Reminds me when I was a kid, a bunch of local teen girls were collecting signatures to prevent Alice Cooper from being allowed to perform in Pittsburgh because he supposedly was planning to decapitate a dwarf live on stage.

Trying to shut this site down will only bring more attention to it. It's a gag site.

    http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/bonsai.asp

Trying to shut it down would be like trying to stop those emails about sending terminally ill kids to Disney World.

Awww, aren't those little fluffies cute? Let's stuff them in a jar and preserve them for the future generations. Save our carpets! For a hairball-free environment! :D
    No really, I like kittens.

I hear congress is working legislation to tax telephone data lines by the minute, even for local calls.

I hear Bill Gates is paying people to forward emails.

I hear Proctor and Gamble has a satanic symbol as their corporate trademark.

I hear there really weren't weapons of mass destruction after all.

    Oh, wait... :D

I've heard about that, and the site, actually believed it too (hey, it seems real). But is that actually possible anyway (stuffing kittens into bottles and having them grow whatever shape)? Not that I have any plans...

the line that raised the red flag. I don't know about the other 3 places but in NZ we like out kittens to crap outside, not in the bottle they live in.

Those New Yorkers sure love the indoor crap though.

I'm going to direct all of my New Zealand related questions to you sarahk. I mean I already do, but now I'm just making it official.

This is when I knew something was up:

It is not really funny, but just knowing it is a joke does make me smile with relief.

That's sick, the feeding tube is coming out of the kids nappy - dogs might eat "nappy by products" but cats know better!

i was kind of scared to open this link a while ago :D lol

my OB doesn't want me to see upsetting things. it was a relief it wasn't real nor was some gorry image from rotten.com

Though i still think the idea is sick even if it is a joke, someone demented enough out there might actually do it.
