Best Ad placement on Article/Content pages?

    Does anyone know the best placement for article content pages?

    I read googles optimization advice and after the article seems the best place to place an ad (and this seems to work for me).

    Our content articles are roughly 450-550 words on a page.

    A couple of questions:

    1. For after the article/content what format is best? I am using a text link ad and getting lots of hits
    2. For the rest of the article/contet , where are people having success? Above the article? Middle of the article?
    3. We have one after intro text with it aligned left and article "wraps" around it. Is it better to have a wide ad that takes up all the space instead?

    Seems really tough to get clicks except at the end.
