Best bank for creating checking accounts online

    I'm looking for a good US bank that allows you to open accounts solely online, without having to visit a branch. Ideally a bank that you can easily open and close accounts, the goal is to have different bank accounts that hold funds for various clients we have. So potentially we may have a few hundred accounts open at any given time, and more opening and some closing.

    We do this now with Wachovia, but we're required to go to the branch each time we open an account - it's becoming too time consuming, but this model works well for us and limits some of our potential risks.

    I'm a big fan of Ally (Ally.com). It's the former GMAC. Since it's all "Online" it's really easy to open up accounts, you can do it all online. The only thing is they send you a "Signature Card" in the mail that you have to sign and mail back to them in a prepaid envelope...but it takes all of 5 seconds. :) Highly recommend. The phone service is great, too.
