At this moment, you have only 2 choices: Drupal and Wordpress.
Both of them are very useful for seo specially url-words links for posts and tags. If you are not familiar with CMS, I recommend you to start with Wordpress till you get some experience with CMS then your next step is Drupal.
    Good luck.

I use WordPress as a CMS and it works great. Easy installation, fantastic support and a great selection of useful plugins.
I've used other CMSs in the past such as Joomla and Drupal, but WordPress 3 (when configured right) works like a dream.

Check out http://www.seotoaster.com, with automated 301, deep-link, link sculpting using Java Script, silo building, automated on-site SEO, and an API to SEO Samba for multiple website marketing, it is by far the most advanced SEO CMS in the market today. It is also way easier to use than Drupal, Joomla or Wordpress (try to edit Jquery slider content with WP..eh eh).

    http://vimeo.com/13642188

It also builds products using micro-formats, XML product feeds, etc...

I have been using wordpress/joomla since last 4 Years, Now today what i have learned is, actually seo doesnt really depends on What CMS you use, its All about How you Publish your Articles in the site, and what seo plugins you use to optimize your website.

If you have to choose between the 2. Joomla would be better choice since it's more popular and supported by more people.

The best one is a well optimized wordpress blog, hands down. But make sure it's a self hosted one if you want to be taken seriously by business people.

Wordpress or Textpattern. I'd definitely go with Wordpress.org for your own hosted domains, theres a reason why its so famous and popular right now. Plus, Google loves Wordpress sites. I havent read through the first 5 pages but this one is a no brainer.

Joomla! obviously... someone said there were alot of add-ons and extensions for another CMS? There are 1600 third party extensions for Joomla! of which 90% of them are free... it takes 2 seconds to add a sitemap, and it uses modern web design standards, which makes SEO much easier I be
