I am about to start a sports site and I need a CMS that I can put a news feed, articles, pictures, videos and stats. I also want to have schedules for teams. I kind of want it like lax.com but I dont want eCommerce and I dont need a login feature. Any ideas? Btw Im very new to Content Management Systems.. I have almost no clue.

Drupal (drupal.org) is a very good CMS to go with. Especially if you want to build a community site. It has many powerful modules that will do the job. But you must invest some time to get used to. Once you now it there is no limit for whatever site you want to develop.

I use Wordpress for most of my sports blogs. Good luck and let me know if you need anything.

Nike.com uses Drupal. That should be an indication for you ;)
