I currently have a website averaging around 2000 unique visitors a day, with the highest of around 3200 in a day for this month...I am currently having some problems with seo (i use joomla) and am thinking of redesigning the website with another cms...Can anyone tell me which is the best cms that is efficient both in handling high traffic (will be looking to increase it) as well as being seo friendly??
    Thanks in advance

Depends on what you need it to do, but I've been doing 99% of my sites with Wordpress lately.

I thought joomla is capable of handling even bigger number of visitors. I know a website that use joomla with average visitors of 50k/daily - and it's still work fine.

Joomla unlike Wordpress is design to handle a lot of traffic. I'm really surprised by what you have said since in this case Wordpress is the worst solution. I think you best join the joomla forum and maybe try getting some SEO and performance tips there.

joomla should handle that amount of visitors fine, the best CMS is a custom one beacuase there are no features installed on it that you actually dont need, so they normally always run quicker.

WordPress also support great amounts of traffic if you have a custom theme that has good navigation and its optimized.

i dont know which one is better i think the best option is that your servers must have the capacity to draw the cart . i mean these all cms are good enough and it depend son your web servers how they manage it.

If you want to handle high traffic, you should cache method, for example, using wordpress, you could use wp-cache plugin.
