    I'm thinking to open a proxy but now the problem is where to host it ?

    Can you recomand some great ofers ....

    Hey w3bmaster,

    I think Layeredtech.com are good. Wouldn't reccomend them for high amounts of servers such as 10+ though.

    You won't be able too. You'd use too much bandwidth + CPU.

    Don't go for shared hosting. Most hosting companies don't allow that but even if you find one, expect to be suspended when your proxy starts eating their CPU, or expext your site to be slooooowww and crashing if more proxies are hosted there.

    Go for a VPS or preferably a dedicated server.

    Try visage hosting, they sorted it all out for me, quite friendly and helpful too. But it depends what script you're running, so.

    don't consider shared hosting!

    I put a proxy on one of my Cpanel servers that was lightly loaded, within 4 days I grabbed another server just for it! Yes, within a week a proxy can use 20Gig/day and a significant amount of CPU. (It also made enough in 5 days to pay for a dedicated server.)

    Don't mess around with anything less than a dedicated, and if your proxy is remotely popular, you will only be able to run 2 or 3 per server unless you get an unmetered connection and a high-end machine.

    Shared/Reseller/VPS are not suitable for proxy hosting becuase proxy sites slows down the server performance. So, I'd strictly recommend you to opt for a dedicated server.

    what proxy scripts you are using? i know quite good onli cgi-proxy and phproxy? are there other with similar features?
