BEST free/low cost Web site builder/host?

I want to put up a test site that won't cost much to get going and maybe have a custom site made later. I'm aware of Yahoo but theirs is 40 bucks/month (not a lot but maybe there's something better/cheaper)? I'd need my own domain and the site should look fairly professional. Great looking templates would be welcome as part of the package. Anyone have suggestions? Thanks!

I have read several DP members recommend asmallorange for a host but suspect you need your own web to upload. You might look and see if they have some sort of site builder. Their tiny site runs $30 per year. I have been tempted to try them.

    I'll share my experience:

For my 2 travel websites, I bought two 50MB hostings, each cost me $15 per year. The company name is JV-hosting.

For my article website on AdSense, I bought a 50MB space from InMotionHosting for $0.01 per month for 6 months only. The only catch is after 6 months, you cannot sign up for the penny-plan anymore. Since my AdSense articles already earn more than $0.06 (LOL!), after 6 months, I'll probably scout for another hosting.

I also have another penny hosting that I paid $0.12 per year for 50MB space from AccuWebHosting. But I have yet to decide what to do with it.

Service rating? InMotionHosting and AccuWebHosting are very efficient in dealing with customer questions and reports. JV-Hosting is so-so. All these 3 are based in the US, I think.

Thanks for the suggestions. What I'm looking for is a service where I can build my own pages without knowing html, etc. (like Yahoo) and can host it, etc. I like the templates at http://www.4templates.com/view/web/ for example, but I wouldn't really know what to do with them to build an actual site :) . Any other suggestions are welcome.

Hi, I have a fairly new webhosting business (ogdhosting.com). The Starter Package has 100mb disk space and 2gb bandwidth for like $1.50 USD per month or you can pay yearly and take up the DPF members special for $10 USD for the whole year.

Included is Fantastico which has a couple of website builders... It is simple to install the website builders with a click of a mouse button.. they are wysiwyg I believe but I have never tried them, here are their names maybe someone else here has herd of them or used them:
    Soholaunch Pro Edition
Short description: From basic, informational websites to robust e-business applications, this script vastly simplifies the creation and management of cutting-edge internet solutions. It installs at the end-users web site and empowers novices and seasoned developers alike with a streamlined development and management process unmatched by any other software product.

    Templates Express
Short description: Use Templates Express to install static templates to your website. You will need to use FTP and edit the html files, replacing the default text with your own text. Standard information like title, name, address and similar will be collected during installation and placed into the installed template in the appropriate locations.
