My laptop just got fried recently and I am looking into purchasing another laptop. I want to make sure it is high quality and smooth to design on. Anyone have experience with some really nice laptops that they would like to share? I have heard the the MacBook is currently the best laptop for design, but I have never used it.

I'll say not to buy a notebook for graphics. This is because the display is small and you cannot see very well the detaills no matter how much you zoom or change resolution.

I never recommend ANY laptop for Graphics design (Unless it's for a traveling Creative Graphics designer). Reason being is that laptops were created with the traveler in mind (Portability), they were NOT intended to replace a desktop & be used 24/7.

I see more & more laptops Burning out as your old one did simply because it was used like a desktop consistently. The Macbooks are great while you are out on a trip & still want to do some light graphics work while on vacation or convention. As far as everyday graphics use though, NONE fit the bill & will never replace a Desktop machine.

Just my 2 cents, I figure you'll have plenty more fried laptops in the future if they keep getting used like desktops. :) Good luck to you!

Ahh, no my laptop had water spilled on it - didn't die from being overused. Maybe I should go for the Mac Pro haha.
