Best Open Source CMS to build a corporate website?

I used Joomla for a long time, but recently I made a great niche website using WordPress and I'm impressed with it's features and simplicity, although I had to change a couple of theme source files to fit my needs.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

 

I prefer Joomla for corporate site

 

free open source cms called Zimplit is very easy because it has a online editor so you can edit your page right on site, no admin area, you can test demo at Zimplits homepage, there are also manuals. If you need correct domain and hosting, then you can buy it from Zimplit too. Hosting is 1€ per month only and domain cost 7,99€. If you already have domain and hosting you can only upload Zimplits files to your server and thats it, also you can use any template you want, Zimplit offers some free templates too.

 

Totally agreed, because wordpress the easiest and best way to go. Joomla is too much bulky CMS, and for highly customizable clean code, i think drupal is pretty nice for developing purposes. But Hands down to wordpress.

 

another great thing in WP is , you can set a schedule post, very nice !
I guess there no other cms that had feature like this

 

As a few others have mentioned before me, i would say wordpress, very flexible, simple and easy to use.

Joomla takes less code knowledge. If you learn the functionality of it... you're home free!

 

For a corporate website definitely Joomla. for smaller businesses I would say e107.

 

Definitely Wordpress or Joomla! I prefer Wordpress because it's REALLY user-friendly, but Joomla is too once you get to know it.

Corporate/business = Joomla!
Blog/VERY USER-FRIENDLY = Wordpress
Advanced/complicated, but ENDLESS possibilities = DRUPAL

 

I only use joomla for corporate sites. Once you know what you want, you really may have no choice but joomla when it comes to content management.

 

I think that Joomla 1.5 is one of the best Open Source CMS, it's simple, reliable and it's regularly updated. Since I started to use it I noticed that it only improved to be one the best. Another CMS I like is Typolight, it's simpler than Joomla and it's based on WEB 2.0 standards

 

Joomla, no doubt about it. Finding a nice theme helps a lot, and you'll have a fresh looking website, perfect for a corporate.

 

Wordpress for corporate ? you must be joking !

Drupal ? cool, as long as you've a lot of time to spare on
their endless upgrading of the framework.

Joomla, i hate it for many good reasons, but it gets the job
done if you know PHP, CSS, and mySQL.

people complaining they love WP because they dont
need to mess with php or css files should better
get out of the industry and pay for a turn-key solution.

WP may look cool but it's as slow as a dog with big sites.
and good luck getting hacked with the tons of alpha and
beta version plugins you'll need to get something decent
out of it.

as for Drupal security, please have a look at the many remote
vulnerabilities they fixed in just the last 6 months...

what joomla really miss is a real ACL, native tags and taxonomy,
node-based content, but you can somehow "fix it" with many free
or commercial addons.

 

You WordPress, very easy to use and there are heaps of great Business / CMS templates now

 

My vote is for drupal but Xoops can also be given a try because u can write your own modules easily with it

WordPress is simpler to Joomla. WordPress is simple to an amateur. Joomla is more powerful and it controls more content. If you want to build a big coperate website, Joomla is first choise. But if you want to build a small one, WordPress is the best!

 

For a simple site i would go with wordpress for a complex social type portal site i'd go with Drupal.
