Best Place to Get Custom Programming For Joomla Extension???

I have an old extension I used with Joomla 1.5. It was the Jomsocial Adsense Revshare extension (2 plugins and 1 module) from ProgTutor.

Problem is that it doesn't work with Joomla 2.5 (plus K2). The MySQL Syntax is out of date and needs to be updated in the install file. The plugin for showing the ads in articles just generates an error. The module never worked with K2. I remember him saying he was going to fix that when 2.5 came out, but he never did.

I would gladly buy a newer version or hire Prog Tutor to do an update for me, but his site has been down for a REALLY long time, and his gmail goes unanswered.

I really like the concept of sharing revenue with my authors and this is the only Joomla extension of it's kind, so I really need to hire someone who can rework it and bring it up to date. Where is a reliable place to find that kind of talent at a reasonable price?

There is an application I used for a client which the designer stopped supporting and just as in your case the client's website can not be upgraded beyond Joomla 1.5 without changing the theme and finding some other suitable software to do what was needed.

In some cases it's repairable as I had on others found cures for the code.
The more recent problems come from PHP changes which causes errors to show up here and there.

Worse case is you need to find a replacement of some sort.

I know one of the errors is definitely do to a change in syntax for the more current version of mysql. There is also a php error that is probably as you suggest, do to changes in php itself. It's probably not that difficult to fix, but it would honestly take me an entire day or two and I'm still not confident I would have a proper update done because I don't deal with php day-to-day any longer. I'm thinking I will be better off to just hire someone to do it. I remember there use to be a site like freelancer, only it was entirely dedicated to joomla coding. Can't remember what it was called off-hand.

Try some of the freelancers websites. Usually turning old extension compatible for 1.5 tro 2.5 and 3 would cost about $10-$15.

By the way, you might try EasyBlog, revenue sharing is inbuild in this component which I can highly recommend.
