Best place to sell a site

    Hi all

i have been working on developing a couple of sites but am now having some p.c issues which has now lead to some money issues and i am trying to sell 1 of them on to help out about.
It is finished and ready to go but it does not have any traffic, where is the best place to sell it? where is likely to get bids and the highest price?

would it be at the Buy, Sell trade forum here or at the Sitepoint market place? or perhaps even ebay?

sorry if this is in the wrong section, i didnt know where else to put it

    thanks

    Zane

If you publicise your sale in all of the aforementioned locations you will increase the odds of someone buying. That's what I'd do. Don't bother with v7n - every time I go there is an eerie silence and tumbleweed blowing.

I would try the BST section here, it wouldn't hurt to try sitepoint as well. You're not stuck to posting only at once forum ;)

Also, I do not reccommend ebay because not a lot of people (if any) search ebay to purchase websites..

Depending on how popular your site it, maybe you can place an announcement that it's for sale on your site? ;) Unless you don't want to make it public.

    Good luck :)

If you want a quick sale try Dp but if you might get a few extra dollars over at SitePoint.

    yup, as you said
    digitalpoint
    sitepoint
or namepros would be where I go first..

but it also depends on the niche,, if its a music site, you may have better luck on well known music communities

    cheers

All of the above, perhaps even try the warriorforum, I know a lot of sites have been sold between members there.

Definitely hit the announcement section of all the major webmaster forums. If your domains are "mixed purpose" (ie., can be used interchangably for adult, mainstream, and gaming) you can try the many gambling affiliate webmaster forums and adult webmaster forums.
