Best placement for blogs

I just started a blog a while back but have held off on adding any advertising.

I'm getting ready to start adding adsense to the blog, and I wanted to get an idea of where I should put it.

Any suggestions for ad location on a blog?

odd question.
There is no real difference to adding ads to a blog as any other site.
you canlook at the blogs in my sig for some ideas but I dont think mine are as optmised as others

 

It totally depends on the layout of your site, there's no "magic formula" for placement.

Many people swear by the banner ads at the top of a page. It turned out that was the weakest spot for my website. Ever since I realized that I've just relied on experimenting.

 

I wouldn't go with the banner at the top of the blog as it is easily missed and people are going to be reading your articles rather then your ads so it'll be the first thing that will leave there vision. Also the banner is way over used and people easily develop ad blindness to it.

 

The best way that is working for me is to include it in the article itself and probably another one just before the comments.

All those other tips (banners, link units) never worked for my site.
