Best placement on a wordpress blog

    I'm trying to figure out what's the best placement for adsense in my blog: www.goldenadvisor.com

    Some possibilities are:

    - sidebar
    - below posts (using the adsense plugin)
    - at the top

    What do you think is the best place to achieve the best CTR?

    Also, I've tried to put a 160x160 button on my sidebar but the ads are not getting targeted, what can I do?

    They have the same problem as I did when I used adsense on the sidebar: their ads are not getting targeted. Do you know how to fix that?

    I use this on my site:

      <!-- google_ad_section_end(weight=ignore) -->
      <!-- google_ad_section_start -->

    ....

      <!-- google_ad_section_end -->
      <!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) -->
    Code (markup):
    That might help with your case.

    What's this exactly? Is it a code to be interpreted by Wordpress?

    It's code that might help for AdSense. Has nothing to do with wordpress.

    Read about section targetting on the adsense site.
    It will all make sense after that.

    Here is my news blog, just started it today using a theme that has adsense in it on the header and on the right side. Link to the author is at the bottom if you are interested.

    It was made for 1.5, but I am using in with 2.0 without any problems so far.

    I have pretty much the same sentiments as you.

    thats pretty optimal in terms of converting new visitors to click. may not get you repeat visitors to your site though. a lot of visitors will be put off but you can't win them all.

    Yeah, the way that blog is specifically setup is: after 3 days, the ads start appearing in those positions. View his regular domain and you don't see the ads. that way his repeat visitors don't see the ads, but the people searching for content and find his site, do see the ads and will normally click on them. it's a pretty good strategy if you know what you're doing.

    Oh I've got one more problem now. When I try to add 2 or more adsense blocks only 1 shows up...

    Sometimes takes a while for ads to show in the 2nd block, just give it a bit of time.

    Whoever the dude was that red-repped me, I think I stated the link to the author of the them was at the bottom.

    Easier to put my link up then to ask permission from the theme owner. Good think I like the color red around this crowd.

    And now I changed to 1 block on the sidebar and two below postings. And guess what? It's working fine... that's so crazy.

    There's also another issue: if I acces my blog using Firefox all ads show up, but if acces with Konqueror(for Linux), only one ad shows up.

    Could somebody acces the blog using other browsers to see what happens?
    The adress is www.goldenadvisor.com/hyip .

    Thanks
