Best position for Adsense on a blog

I'm about to test a position in my wordpress blog where my ads would be placed, at the top. It would be just under my links menu, but it is really near. Would it be "misleading" or cheating the system (users would click on link by accident)?

 

I would read Googles Adsense Tips page for suggestions about ad placement.

 

If you knew that someone from Google was going to be checking up on your site, would you be comfortable with the placement in the location you're considering?

If you were an advertiser, would you be unhappy with someone who put your ad in the position you're considering?

Without seeing your site, I can't really give an opinion (not that it would matter anyway, it's just an opinion ), but I'd suggest looking at it from a couple points of view. If it's simply good placement, then I'm sure it's just fine. If people are going to be mislead into clicking it though, you could end up with some unhappy advertisers writing to google.
