Best script(like oscommerce) that can email me the order?

Okay i have been using oscommerce and its worked like a charm i even found mods for it to where i can make it so the script sends me the customers order and lets them pay by cash directly to me(since most of my business is local)

    But...

My host says oscommerce has wayyyy to many security holes and told me i wasnt allowed to use oscommerce... Any suggestions of other free scripts out there that can do the same thing?

Oscommerce commerce is complete crap ;)

Magento is free and high level enterprise stuff. Has a bit of a learning curve though.

Prestashop is very easy to use and much more polished than oscommerce as well. If we don't deploy our own system I use one or the other.

Prestashop is really good but nothing touches Magento.

    hope that helps,
    Nigel

wow that magento script looks amazing, but is there a way to have customers pay later(pay by cash to me personally) and just have the script send me the order?

Sorry if its obvious i just briefly looked over the script and i need to know this before i look deeper into this

I guess the easist way around that is to make a downloadable product, or have check as a payment option. There is really no point in not offering paypal as well short of the fees involved. Unless of course items are really expensive.

You can do this with either application but yeah, Magento is serious stuff. If you have a designer handy it is fairly easy to design anything you want for it. You can check the blog for some really high level examples of what is being done with it.

    glad I could help,
    Nigel

Edit, sorry I mean if you have a programmer handy. Magento uses what is called the MVC method to template stuff. Most good php folks know how to approach that.

Payment options are located here admin -->systems-->Configuration-->Payment Methods
