Myspace has turned into a fail because of all the bots that roam it
Facebook & Twitter, particularly Facebookn, are great for advertising cause you can gain a targeted audience

I still think Twitter is overrated, but a necessary evil because of all the buzz / press around it. I think Facebook should just finish the job and swallow the dumb thing whole. Do they even have a real monetization strategy?

Okay, I digress... sorry.

Are we just talking about "marketing" or are we also including "advertising"? I've played around with FaceBook's advertising platform and so far I'm pretty darn impressed. It's easy to navigate and the controls (geo, niche, age, etc.) are pretty sweet.

 

Does anyone know if you can advertise a ptc site on facebook or twitter?

 

You can. I have, wasn't all to successfull but didn't try for very long

Facebook and Twitter both are good. Even though twitter is getting faster popularity than facebook and million of people now joined it. Therefore twitter would be better choice.

Facebook is by far the best especially with the new feeds system. They dont realise what they have done. You can place an advert via an app on all your friends walls and then if someone shares the add it appears on all their friends walls.

The next thing you know you have got over 100,000 ads on various peoples walls. Absoutely crazy money to be made

I have $100 free advertising voucher for Facebook ads, but nearly every review I have read is really rough on FB ads.

I dont mean using facebook ads - i mean using an application within facebook and get the users to post adds to their friends walls.

It is much quicker than using the ads system and FREE.

Facebook and twitter work both for me.. I think you should used them for the shake of your site traffic.

 

Stumbelupon and twitter is good for marketing purposes! And facebook also helps to get you a good traffic if you create a groups and gain your members

 

I think it depend on the market you wanna target. According to a recent report, daily 800,000 new users are joining facebook. More than 45% of the total user base is males above age 26. The highest growing user group in facebook is women of the age 35-45. You've got a huge huge market there.

Myspace is more into teens.

And twitter, is one of the largest growing network in Web. Almost 16% of the total internet population is there in twitter.

Choose the platform based on your market.



So, which one you're gonna target first?
