Best social network to promote business?

Discussion in 'Social Networks' started by olddocks, Feb 3, 2011.

Which social network is best for promoting business and of course to make some money. Facebook or twitter?

At present i have many facebook friends but i always want to isolate my personal friends from my business friends.

How do we go about this and what are your suggestions?

Definitely Facebook and Twitter will be great. If you need more professional then you can use Linkedin too.

For me, I find Facebook more effective than twitter for my business promotions. I get more traffic and business inquiries.

I'd go with Twitter. Facebook is good for bringing in more people, and getting more fans.

Facebook works well but twitter works better if you have many followers and make sure to follow them back.

So isolate one set of friends from another, you should have two accounts. And as to which social network is best, that's a question that can't be answered - the best one ios the one which works best for you.

There is no perfect answer for this question, it depends on the nature of the business and your target audiences, go where they are.
Some basic guideline you can consider, for B2C , you should focus on facebook, for b2b, you can focus on linkedin and twitter.

As you mention about separating your friends and business connections, you can do it in facebook easily, you can group people into different list, and when you are about to send out a update, select the list you want to send to, then the rest of your friends won't see the post. Hope it helps :)

Undoubtedly facebook is the best social networking site to promote your business. Advertisements, back-links, fanpages etc.

For these options, I am including Twitter and FriendFeed as social networks, even though most would characterize them as having social features, but not necessarily pure socnets in the sense that LinkedIn and Facebook are.

Many people use multiple social networks. For example, the three I use most often are: LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. YouTube and Flickr offer social networking features, but I suspect the majority of users are personal, not business. For this poll, just pick one and share others in the comments including an anchor text link to your profile if you like.

Please also share other business social networks, especially any that are niche or vertically specific.

I prefer Facebook which i think it more effective then twitter.
But sometime it also depend on target market.
For asia, maybe using FB more success, more eastern countries maybe more looking for twitter.
For my personal, i prefer fb which i think like and share application is awesome to help in business purpose.

I think I'll go for FB where you can have more activities and bond with friends and create a good relationship to promote your site better.
