Best type of site for programmer to create.

I have about 80 domains mostly content driven, and while they have only been up for about 6 months they are doing ok, maybe about 200 page views per day making an average of a 1 with a pr average of 3.5. I have one site that I have had for about 9 years that does most of my traffic and is my 3 site, with a pagerank of a 6.

I have been trying to determine what the best type of site for adsense would be, I am a web programmer and can build anything.

The categories I consider the top options (with cons) are as follows...

    1) The basic content driven pages with articles. CONS - Difficult to be an expert in very many areas, plus time consuming to create really good content.

    2) Forums. CONS - From what I understand, users tend not to click on adsense in forums.

    3) Directory of websites. CONS - There are many options for users to leave the site without clicking on one of your adsense links.

    4) Unique Internet niche (like digg.com) . CONS - Obviously difficult to break that barrier and generate the required buzz.

So to summarize, high traffic potential = High adsense potential. And as we are all doing, I am just trying to determine what direction to go to maximize my ROI. What is your take on this?

Unique by far, but it's like you said, hard to break the barrier, and to even get an idea in the first place, but once you get one definitely go for it, never hurts to try, and you'd never know what could turn out of it if you didnt.
