Best way to let Programmers or designers into your WP Blog?

    Hello,

I was wondering what's the safest way to let someone into your WP dashboard. I mean if you hire someone to program or design, but you have a established blog.

When my blogs were new I didn't really care but now it's a different story.

Should you create account for them as only a editor, writer, admin or what?

Also, what if they just left they're browser in my WP dashboard even after I change the password when they finish the work. They still could do whatever they wanted or look at all my info, right?
I mean they aren't like kicked out or on some time limit.

    What do you guys suggest?

I know I might be sounding a little paranoid, but after a little experience in internet marketing, I've learned you cannot trust anyone. I've meat a few shady programmers before, like one who got a attitude with me when I changed my password without him knowing it. He wanted me to allow him to have access to my WP dashboard for a few days. This was when I was a newb and someone had told me to change my password and don't trust this type of programmer.

There's gotta be a safe way to do this.

Thanks everyone for any advice!

If you can't trust them then you are SOL.

arrogant or not, i think he has a point.. A programmer/designer will have power - you will HAVE to trust him/her, otherwise they can't do what you want. I suppose you could give them a copy of everything, have them develop/work on their own system, then upload everything to your site, but that's a pain.

You can always change the password after the work is finished.......

And just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get you......

The only large blog I have I don't let anyone onto ever. I do 100% of everything on that site, design, coding and writing. I have a private mirror of the site set up so I can test posts and other changes before they go live. Just copy all of your wordpress files to a subdomain, copy your db and you've just created a sandbox. Theoretically that would be safer than letting someone have access to your money site. Just double check their code before putting it on your live site. ;)

Why would they need to? make a backup and use an empty database for them to use.

You need to hire a reputable company, not some internet guru
