    Left if you have a big ad on the right side. You want to distribute ads evenly and not clutter them to one side.

    It guess it's matter of taste and pupose.
    I've seen 'em left, I've seen 'em right, and I've seen 'em using two ads with the content below!!
    For my purpose, Ad left seems to the hottest spot and Less ads placed well works better than 3 ad units full of numerous individual ads.
