    I have a site which gets most of it's traffic through SE but also gets plenty of promotion in the maker communities.

    Would a gigantic adsense ad spot at the top of the page before content seriously hurt my reputation in them & readership?

    I tossed an image up as a preview on the main page to see if anyone complains. It's not a "regular blog" in that most people don't even know they can leave comments & there's no blog community linking to it, just forum posters.

    At the moment it gets roughly 4k visitors a day through search engines, and another 1000ish regulars/signature clickers. The eCPM is alright as it is (my lowest of all sites - it makes up in volume), but there's still a lot of room for improvement. Trying to affiliate sell games to them instead of annoying google ads has been worthless - the crowd apparently just pirates everything.
