If you are running out of water, how is price gouging alabama citizens on water rates
going to do anything? If you are out of water then you are out of water. I do not under
stand the price gouging on water; Its not like Birmingham water works can create more.

I thought price gouging was illegal...
oh wait, unless it is a US State...
    then it is perfectly OK...

This post best sums it up:

To sum it up....When it rains less, you need to water your lawn and plants more. When this occurs, BWW makes record profits. When it gets dryer, BWW asks customers to use less water. When customers use less water the BWW makes less money. Here is the HYPOCRISY of BWW. They will make up for the requested reduced usage and profits by gouging those who are in need the most and use water as needed by gouging them triple price in a CRISIS. Price gouging a citizen during a disaster or crisis should be illegal. It's opportunistic at best.

How is price gouging on water going to create more water?

    Thanks Alabama,
I am ashamed to live in a price gouging state....

It is irony that Birmingham Water asks that you cut back, however, in order to make up
their profits for those that can cut back, then they price gouge those that are not able to
cut back as this just maybe normal typical water use for those that go over....

Two posts in two days regarding your dislike for Alabama's policies/utilities...maybe it's time to move? :)

Used to go to Huntsville on business quite a bit; love the catfish!

If you don't like the government where you live, you are free to move to a more amendable place. No law against you picking up your toys and leaving the game.
