its better to do both but if you have to choose one or the other do social networking because there is more traffic, meaning more potential slaes

These activities totally vary from each other and cater different needs of website. Bookmarking is basically done to improve keyword ranking of your website and emphasize on SEO purpose. whereas, if you want to improve your website's social media presence and promote your product on various social media then social media optimization is done (sharing your posts on various social platforms).
Both of these platform are equally important for promotion of your product so a mix of both will surely work for your business

 

In my opinion, Sharing links in bookmarking sites is better.

 

I'll submit on both social bookmarking and networking sites. However, I would prefer social network, because of the amount of real human who are logging in daily on their social network accounts. I'll get more traffic from them anyway.

Bookmarking is good for SEO purpose whereas social networking is basically use to improve the social media presence of your website and to build your brand name. Both have different functionalities so choose wisely

 

Social Bookmarking only less those famous and high PR site that effective to generate traffic and build backlinks. Other low PR social bookmarking are like dying cause of Google update define short content as low and poor quality content.
For me , I prefer use social media which able to go viral faster compare to social bookmarking.
