Bookmarking?

Can someone tell me what is the function of bookmarking? I've been doing this for sometime, but I don't really see the result that driving traffic to my site. Please advise. Thanks

 

Social Bookmarking doesn't really work unless you have one of two things:

1. Tons of friends on your social bookmarking profile
2. Ability to have your URL bookmarked tons of times by different profiles

Bookmarking your articles and having them saved by a few people won't do much, but hitting the popular section of Delicious, Diigo, PopURL's can bring in tons of new and unique traffic.

 

Bookmarking (or social bookmarking to be more exact) is primarily designed to boost traffic of a site or page. But that can only be achieved if you make the right title tags, and the page/article is interesting for other users.

 

first of all you need good content. then make some friends to help each other.

 

Social bookmarking for me is the second best way to build traffic to my sites. as webcosmo said. you must have an interesting content to share to your friends.

I added the ShareThis plug-in to my WP blog and ping my top 10 social networks every time I pen a new article.

 

For me it works great to get more traffic to my site. So you have to try to get some interesting articles on the bookmarking sites.

 

You can get the benefit of quickly indexed by Google as long as you use dofollow social bookmarking site.
For generating traffic, I agree with the previous posters, you have to have a big network to get your link scored to be able to generate some traffic...

 

you should bookmark your sites in high pr / high traffic sites and try to make them to come in home pages
