My site got frontpage of digg and has seen an insane traffic jump in 2 hours. See for yourself:

I've been looking at how to get traffic from Digg.

Do you have many friends that dugg your post, or was it all from visitors to your site and people that came across it on digg?

 

Wow that is a lot of traffic from digg. You will receive a lot more as long as you are in the digg homepage.

 

3000 visitors in a day is nothing seriously very high, but yes its high when compared to your normal traffic.

 

you will get more than 40K my friend, take it easy . got it many times

 

Jmz - I just added friends via Digg itself - than I send em a shout if I want something dugg.
Amitpatel 3001 - I'm aware its nothing extraordinary, I am quite happy though - since I am relatively new to IM and this is the first serious break at traffic I get : P

That's crazy. It's confusing when you log in and see a spike that big, it only happened to me once, when I got a front page listing on i-am-bored

 

Besides paying for additional traffic, what did you get out of the traffic boost?

I had a friend pull 17,000 visits in a few hours off a social post, but they were not ready for the traffic so they didn't really make anything from it.

 

I didn't pay for additional traffic - Traffic boost got me 20 Cents (Lol) - Hopefully it helped stir up some interest in my site. I didn't really expect to make some cash from that.

 

How long can you stay to be in the frontpage? Is there a timeframe?

Yeah it's around 4 hours

 

Nice job on the traffic, but SB traffic converts poorly. At least with Digg you have a better chance at making a buck then with SU.

The initial boost in traffic is nice to look at, but probably not really going to serve much purpose (beyond bragging rights). Hopefully you'll get plenty of follow-up links from other bloggers picking up on your front-page story, which is where the true value of hitting the FP is at.

 

The backlinks from front page Digg is where all the value is. The actual traffic never converts that is what you should expect.

 

Does the Frontpage actually give a valuable backlink?

Anyways heres an update:

 

Digg front doesn`t send as much as it used to before banning several top user accounts. But on average it can be anywhere from 10K - 20K visitors within a few hours. Congrats.
