I have a tiny dog... got her from the animal shelter a couple of years ago. Can't tell what it is... it's like a mix of chihuahua with cocker, lol. Just a tiny cocker.

One day I was surfing the net and heard her barking. I went to see what was going on, and she was following a huge scorpion around the living room. I was surprised she didn't touch it, she just followed it from a safe distance barking around.

And last night it happened again. I heard her growling under a table, and I knew what was happening. I got up to see and yes, there it was, a huge damn scorpion on the floor.

Since I live in a city where the average temperature is 27 celcius it is very common to find scorpions in your house. I am just glad I have my pest control dog ready to defend me! :D

My dog daisy is a great fly swatter, but she thinks she is also a bee hunter as well. Once a summer I have to take her in for a cortizone shot because she's had a bout with a bummble bee and she's allergic to bee stings.

My other dog roscoe works animal control. He's friendly with our random turtle and the owl, but any time we get possums, raccoons or cats trying to hang out in our back yard he won't shut up until they are gone. I mean really won't shut up. He'll bark and howl for hours. I call the turtle random because he's obviously cared for and won't take food from us, but none of the neighbors claim him. He shows up during the week cruising all around our back yard all day long and disappears at night and on the weekends. We have high fences all around and dogs in 2 of three connecting back yards. He's too tall to fit under the fence anywhere I have found and surprisingly I find him on our raised deck area sometimes - of which I can think of no feasible way for him to get up there. The owl we have comes and goes, but he lives in the chimney and our fireplace opens up to two rooms so the whole house echoes when he hoots. I'm going off subject, but I can't talk about my dogs without talking about my other random animals.

I would poop in my pants if I heard an owl hooting in my house in the middle of the night

My dog used to catch bees out of the air all the time. I know they stung her now and then cause she would just lay and rub her snout after a losing bout.

But she never stopped, she just snapped at um and ate um.

I must add, this is the same dog that has run full speed, head down, right into trees chasing squrilles. So you be the judge!

As for scorpions, we got um here too. But I put lots of bug stuff in the lawns and around the house outside. They seem to be at bay.

The big thing here is all the lizards in the house. They eat bugs, so we ignore um.

I've never seen a real scorpion in my life. If I did, I'd probably poop MY pants!

I did have a bat in my house once. I was sleeping out on the couch cause it was hot, and it got in and was swooping at me. I even felt it brush my hair before I could get under the blanket.

My three cats chased it all over the house for an hour. They even jumped onto the glass chandalier and almost pulled it out of the ceiling.

I've never been so disgusted in my life. And my sissy boyfriend at the time was too scared to come out of the bedroom and get rid of it.

So guys, if you want to impress your wife/girlfriend - be a man and don't force her to do the pest control cause you're too busy crying in the bedroom!

I've never seen a scorpion, but my cat caught a California king snake once, which we kept for a while. We called it IBM, short for "It Bit Me!" which should tell you plenty about how the snake felt about captivity. We released it once it healed from what the cat did to it. Good thing king snakes aren't poisonous.

I had to pluck a dead rat out of my wall last week. I still have the heeby jeebies. I thought I touched it with my hand as I was cutting into the wall and just about puked. If ever there was a market needing a service provider that was it. I would have paid a thousand dollars to get someone over within an hour to fix that problem. Apparently those kinds of services exist, just not in my area. We even had the trash company come out early to pick up the garbage. I threw out the wall, the insulation, all the wiring inside which I had to rewire myself, the outlets on the wall, and the gloves, bags, and towels I used to pick that thing up. I've never been so disgusted in my life. Now I have to re-paint it. It's not even an option to leave something like that alone for a few days until you can get someone to come out.

My dog can't even defend its food from being eaten by a stray cat...I kept on laughing as I took a picture of the cat stealling his food as he looked on helplessly.
