Breakthrough Yahoo Search Marketing Tips

I thought I would put a tips thread up to see when your Adwords accounts had a "Breakthrough" and what it was you did to achieve it. Also, please let us know how your account changed after you implemented this change..

When I noticed that my daily budget was being spent day after day, I decided to lower my keyword bids and sacrifice my average position. The result was a huge increase in daily clicks and lowering the CPC while maintaining or improving CTR.

 

So no one uses Yahoo Search marketing?

YSM is definitely worth trying. You can have $50 free balance from many hosting and other services. That can be redeemed the first time you signup with YSM. However the minimum CPC is $ 0.10. Begining with may YSM is trying to put emphasis on quality as well as bidding value which is similar to ADWORDS and a good thing.

 

I have not been a fan of YSM but the new features letting you pick what states your ads show has provided a more cost effective use of YSM.

 

Tamarack, the new YSM lets you target specific DMS's which is a huge for targeted advertisers. Helps out a lot!

 

That worked well for me too. I am currently not using them, just paused, but I know trying different ads helps as well. We often think our own ideas are great, but until you try different ones you really don't know how good it can be. I get a really good conversion rate from yahoo ads.

 

Have you tried AB testing? Write your ad to the different benefits of your products.

 

I have not. I use google analytics to see what is working best. When marketing I only try to get the visitors to join the site.

 

I wonder how that would differ from someone selling a tangible product.
